Biography

Dr. Claudia Castro is a board-certified pathologist with more than twenty-five years of experience in diagnostic anatomic pathology, surgical pathology, and pulmonary pathology. Throughout her career, she has provided comprehensive pathology services to hospitals, physicians, and healthcare systems, earning a reputation for diagnostic excellence, clinical collaboration, and dedication to high-quality patient care.

Dr. Castro earned her medical degree from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala and completed pathology residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She subsequently completed fellowship training in Pulmonary Pathology at Baylor College of Medicine and Surgical Pathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she later served as a faculty member in the Department of Pathology.

Her professional experience includes academic appointments at MD Anderson Cancer Center, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and The University of Texas Medical Branch, as well as leadership and clinical roles within hospital-based pathology practices throughout Florida. Over the course of her career, she has developed particular expertise in pulmonary pathology, surgical pathology, cytopathology, and the diagnosis of complex neoplastic diseases.

Dr. Castro has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented scientific research at national and international pathology conferences. Her extensive clinical, academic, and research experience supports her commitment to delivering accurate, timely, and clinically meaningful diagnoses that help guide patient care and treatment decisions.
