Biography
Dr. Jeanne Ackerman is a board-certified pathologist with extensive experience in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, pediatric pathology, and laboratory medical leadership. Throughout her career, she has provided comprehensive pathology services while leading laboratory operations, quality initiatives, and multidisciplinary clinical programs that support physicians and patient care.
Dr. Ackerman earned her medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine and completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of South Florida, where she served as Chief Resident. She subsequently completed fellowship training in Pediatric Pathology and later joined the faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
For more than fourteen years, Dr. Ackerman served as Medical Director of the Laboratory at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach, where she provided leadership in laboratory operations, cancer care initiatives, and physician collaboration. She also served as a consulting physician to the Department of Surgery and participated in numerous medical staff leadership activities, including the Cancer Committee and Tumor Board. A Fellow of the College of American Pathologists, Dr. Ackerman is recognized for her commitment to diagnostic excellence, laboratory quality, and the delivery of high-quality pathology services.
